Guest Speaker, Musician, and Teen Mentor at Youth of Unity Rallies
Allison has been the guest speaker, musician, and teen mentor at numerous Youth of Unity Rallies with the Southwest Youth of Unity chapters. At the Y.O.U. rallies Allison conducts workshops on psychological growth, self-esteem, and intuition. She is an advocate for the blending of intuition with science and knows teenagers are geniuses in disguise who desire a sacred place of freedom and acceptance, where they can explore meditation and creativity with no constraints to hold them back from the miracles of this sacred world.
Allison has taught music in preschools, elementary schools, and middle schools for the past five years. She uses a diverse curriculum which covers a broad range of music history, instrument and genre study, music theory, team work, and creativity. Her teaching style stems from the Montessori philosophy of supporting the student's desire to learn and experience the joys of education from an interactive, hands-on environment. Vocal techniques are taught using the method of Solfège, which employs a variety of hand motions in order to aid the student in interval and pitch memory. In order to fully compliment the students interactive and active music class experience, Allison carries with her an abundance of musical instruments such as the cello, balafon, electric piano, djembe, shakers, violin, guitar, ukulele, table harp, strum stick, banjo, electric ukulele, Native American flute, washboard, xylophone, and Tibetan bowls.
